Recomendaciones para usar menos petróleo

En medio del desastre del derrame de crudo en el Golfo, hoy recibí un mail de Greenpeace con algunas recomendaciones para reducir el consumo de combustible y demás productos basados en petróleo:

• Para ir al trabajo, comparte el recorrido con alguien, ve en bici o transporte público.
• Elige productos empacados sin plástico, y en lo posible recicla y reutiliza los envases.
• Compra frutas y vegetales orgánicos (los fertilizantes y pesticidas suelen tener base de crudo)
• Compra productos de belleza con base en ingredientes naturales, no petróleo.
• Prefiere productos locales, han requerido menos transportación.
• Compra ropa hecha de algodón orgánico, no de derivados de petróleo.
• No utilices artículos desechables.
• Deja de tomar agua embotellada.
• Vuela menos.
• Exige que tu gobierno apoye las iniciativas de energía renovable.

-Sembrar plantas comestibles y árboles frutales en jardines

-Recolectar agua de lluvia para el riego de jardines

-Evitar comer afuera todo el tiempo y llevar tu propio almuerzo al trabajo

-Jugar con cartas, dados, o juegos no virtuales

-Comprar menos

In addition to the name being an obvious environmental message, the products are made from organic ingredients, packaged in biodegradable containers, and manufactured sustainably.
